The
terminal obstacle of silicone rubber
Silicone rubber carries out
the polymerization of the siloxane of a low molecular weight
by
the ring- opening-reaction in a catalyst, and is obtained, as shown in the
following figure.
In this case, all low molecular weight siloxanes do not react and it remains
a little. The
evaporated siloxane adheres to a terminal and it is considered to change with oxidization
by the heat of a spark to a silica (SiO2) insulation layer.
